From the initial meeting, it was clear that this home would be rooted in a strong, traditional point of view. With a classic black-and-white checkered floor, crisp white kitchen, and chrome and deep blue hues, the foundation of the design was formed. To maintain a sense of interest without monotony, we introduced a warm terracotta Clé tile in the side entry wing, complemented by ashy wood cabinetry and a moody black-and-cream guest suite that reintroduced the home’s signature contrast.
The space features rich materials such as leathers, suedes, mosaics, selenite, and alabaster, paired with luminous chrome finishes that define nearly every surface. Each space was graced with lighting fixtures from around the world, including selections by British designers Charles Edwards and Hector Finch. In the dining room, we contrasted a delicate mural on the wall with a geometrical ceiling wallcovering and Fortuny fabric on the chairs to soften the formality, ensuring that the home’s bold design still maintained a sense of complex elegance and warmth.
