This home was defined by its modernity, drawing inspiration from Olson Kundig’s work with a focus on a linear aesthetic softened by warm wood and hearty stone. The design challenge stemmed from the home’s unique location; the rocky terrain and altitude, combined with the desire for sweeping views of the Hudson River and NYC, required careful consideration.
The home needed to nestle within the landscape, balancing its height with the steepness of the driveway, all while maximizing the northern-facing views. As the architectural design evolved into a living sculpture, we aimed for sleek, minimal interiors that harmonized with the exterior, using a soft palette of blues, taupes, and greys accented with stainless steel to create a seamless flow between the indoors and outdoors.
