Brought onto the project after the sheetrock was already in place, we were met with a framework rooted in modern minimalism. While the original architectural vocabulary was clean and restrained, we felt the spirited nature of the clients called for more character. Where possible, we introduced architectural detailing – mouldings, textural layers, and warmth, while still honoring the home’s contemporary core.
A design trip to Milan sparked the vision for the entertainment lounge. Inspired by oak, emerald stone, and metal mesh, we created a custom oak grid wall and a bold green stone bar, with mirror-fronted cabinetry to expand the space without distraction. Throughout the home, rich materials tell the story: suede-wrapped walls and a blue shearling rug in the bedroom, leather-inlaid rugs and textured drawer fronts in the office, and hand-plastered walls offering depth and nuance. Carefully composed color palettes add a final layer of quiet complexity. The result is a home that balances modern simplicity with personality and soul.
